 Topics will include instructional strategies that every teacher can use in the classrooms. In each topic, you will be able to review research based based articles about the topic. Right after research based article, you will be able to watch great examples from the classrooms about the instructional strategy, and provide your feedback about the video. You will also jot down your own strategy and able to practice it. You will receive feedback about your practice. There will be reflection part for each topic presented here.

ABOUT MEHMET OKUMUS
He was born in 1970 in Turkey. He had his bachelor's degree in mathematics from the College of Education at Bosporus University in Istanbul Turkey. Before he came to the United States in 2002, he taught mathematics and coordinated GT programs in a private college preparatory school for 7 years in Istanbul Turkey. During that time, he was on the textbook author committee for Algebra 3&4 mathematics textbooks. He served as a Math teacher, the Assistant Principal, and the principal, in order, in Harmony public charter school system in Houston Texas between 2002 and 2007. In 2008, he was promoted to become an Area superintendent for Valley Area public charter schools in the same school system. He received his master's degree in Educational leadership from Sam Houston State University in 2008. From 2009 to 2017, he directed and coordinated all activities at 17 branches in six southern states, managed fundraising activities and budget, launched Study Turkey programs and large-scale international festivals, and established affiliations with K-12 schools and universities as the president and CEO of Raindrop Foundation. In 2017, he moved to the principal’s position at the School of Science and Technology charter school system and he opened the School of Science and Technology Excellence in 2017, and the School of Science and Technology Sugar Land in 2018. After serving 3 years of principalship at the School of Science and Technology Sugarland, He moved to the Director of Academics position in the Greater Houston region in the SST school system. He served as an Advisory board member for Houston Community College ASPIRE (Asian Scholarship Program Inspiring Results and Excellence), an advisory board member for the Asian Advisory Committee in Houston Independent School District, a board member of the City of Houston Advisory Council of International Communities, the president of Raindrop Foundation and the board member for Brays Oaks Management District and Southwest Houston 2000. and lives with his wife, a 23-year-old son, and 16 and 15-year-old daughters in Houston, Texas.
